Rod was recently accused of trading or selling President Obama’s vacated senate seats in which he says he was never committed to doing this. He was also guilty of making false statements to the FBI, but they could not reach a verdict on the 23 remaining accounts which includes racketeering, bribery, and conspiracy to commit wire and mail fraud.

The worse case that he could have got was up to five years, with a $250.000 bond. The sentence that he got was a couple months to a year, with a free pending bond. He was also getting impeached.
